After a successful alien attack on the earth, only 6 humans escaped. Five are onboard non-firing space vessels and one (you) is piloting the only remaining fighting craft. Your mission is to guard the vessels on the journey to safety. Aliens will attack your convoy and try to kill you and abduct the vessels, eliminating the human race.

Blast the invaders to pieces while protecting the last remaining humans, using upgradeable weapons and powerups and fight your way through the choreographed levels and game modes to achieve the highest scores. Score by combos, fastkills, selective shooting and accuracy, as well as effectively protecting and rescuing humans from the hands of the aliens.

The design goal for phoenicas is to provide absolute mayhem and frantic -but balanced- gameplay. It's all about how to maximise your score, using various techniques and multipliers, like not missing, shooting chains of same craft, making fastkills, even bumping onto enemy craft gives bonus points etc.

Levels are choreographed to the music (some of which is written and recorded especially for the game), so learning the tunes will help you remember the attacks.
